Basic Skirt Pattern with Double Darts

Front Skirt

Make a slash line from the dart point near side seam, parallel with center line.

Cut the slash line to the dart point.

Close the dart.

Measure the space formed at the hemline (d).

Extend the hemline at side seam half the amount of the space formed OR extend the hemline 1-2.

Make a new side seam, blend at the hip. Square the corner of hemline and side seam.

Close the space at the hemline and blend.

Back Skirt

Make a slash line from the dart point near side seam, parallel with center line.

Cut the slash line to the dart point.

Close the dart so that the space formed at the hemline equal with the space formed at front skirt.

Move the remaining dart to the other dart; distribute it evenly to the left and right.

Extend the hemline at side seam with the amount equal to the front skirt extension.

Make a new side seam, blend at the hip. Square the corner of hemline and side seam.

Close the space at the hemline and blend.

You can make A-Line skirt pattern of any length using this knee-length A-Line skirt pattern. Measure the amount you want to add/reduce, and lengthen/shorten the same amount along the hemline.
